The PlayStation 3, known as the PS3 is made by Sony and is the third console in the PlayStation series. The PS3 was preceded by the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 units of course. The PS3 was first introduced in November of 2006 to the Unite States market, while Europe, Australia, Africa, New Zealand and the Middle East had to wait until March of 2007 before they were able to buy one in their own country. Thousands of people lined up outside retail stores for hours at a time to get their hands on PS3 on the first day of sales and they sold out very quickly.
