Get familiar with the different parts of the computer, and how they put together. Try to learn on recognizing different styles of processor chip, RAM, disk drives, ports and other components.
Even though the computer components themselves employ at low voltages, you still have the mains strength voltage coming into the back of the computer. Always power off and unplug when you are working on the computer, and be aware of any signs of overheating or of burning smells. Enjoy the learning process.
